Position/Role?
Senior Plumber
How long have you been working with Melbourne Plumbing Group?
I’ve been with Melbourne Plumbing Group for three years, but I’ve been in the trade for 37 years.
Why did you choose to pursue a career in this trade?
I was drawn to plumbing because I enjoy working outdoors, and I love the variety that comes with the job. Every day is different, and I’m enjoying sharing my knowledge with the next generation.
What advice would you give someone starting out as a plumber?
Plumbing is a great career with plenty of opportunities for growth. If you’re willing to put in the effort, it can be really rewarding.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
Retirement! Haha. I’ve always been someone who gives things a go, and one of the biggest challenges I’ve tackled was the Billy Goat Bluff Track. I’d love to take on ‘The Staircase’ at Lake Cobbler next. A dream of mine would be to take my 4WD on a trip around Australia.
What is a plumbing tip you think everyone should know?
Stay on top of maintenance—don’t wait until a small issue becomes a big (and expensive) problem!
Three words to best describe you?
Easy-going and knowledgeable.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
My family.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
England and Scotland. I’d love to explore the history and see where it all began.
